Now you can get the latest production news and information regarding the upcoming student stage play "FATHERS OF THE DARK KNIGHT"... all in one place! The official FOTDK Website is now open!! Pull up a chair and make yourself comfortable! There's a LOT to see and a lot to get excited about as we ramp up to our show premiere this summer! The incredibly successful "Living In Sequence" Comic Art Gallery Event held its official artist closing on Saturday, March, 30th at the Visitor's Center at Poe Park in The Bronx. Due to the enormous popular, demand, the event had been extended one full month past it's original intended closing date! The publicity and information presence of "Fathers Of The Dark Knight" was a popular attraction at the gallery. Hundreds of visitors, young and old, from the tri-state area enjoyed the opportunity to see production stills and actual production costumes on display! Writer Producer, Director, Roberto Williams was on hand to answer questions about the upcoming production and to share his feelings and insights about the historic collaboration between Bob Kane, Bill Finger, and Jerry Robinson... the main subject matter of "FATHERS OF THE DARK KNIGHT"! Visitors also has the opportunity to meet key cast and crew members of this ambitious production! A hearty "congratulations" and "Thank you" go out, first and foremost to Mr. Ray Felix, curator of the "Living In Sequence" Comic Art Gallery Event! Mr. Felix's support of "Fathers of the Dark Knight" has been invaluable, and the production is eternally in his debt for allowing us to participate in this incredible event opportunity! Sincere "thank you's" must also be extended to the parents and cast members of FOTDK , who so graciously extended their time and support to the production during this month long gallery event. Lastly, (but most certainly not least), enormous gratitude is extended to Mrs. Zaida Soler Williams for all of her continued, love, affection, and support. Director Roberto Williams has officially begun the rehearsals for "Fathers Of The Dark Knight" three months ahead of schedule! Mr. Williams conducted vocal and fight scene rehearsals early this afternoon with Mr. Andrew Davis Feliz who will be portraying The Batman in the summer stage production.
Rehearsals will be conducted two to three days a week with the various available cast members, and then expanded to additional days as the summer approaches. Rehearsals will then transfer to the production's final theater space approximately one month prior to the show premiere. February 16th, 2013 Producer, Director Roberto Williams was joined by several cast and crew members from "Fathers Of The Dark Knight" to appear at a small, private photo studio on West 28th Street in New York City earlier today. Their goal once again, was to create a series of high quality, "glamor" publicity photographs that would promote the upcoming summer production and help with production fund-raising efforts. Mr. Williams once again served as photographer for the session with Mr. Charles Grant, Alaja DeSilva, and Kenneth Thornton generously providing production assistance services. This operation was considerably larger than the first (rooftop location) publicity photo shoot for FOTDK, held virtually 6 months to the day prior to today's efforts. No less than six (6) fantasy characters from the play were called to participate in today's shoot: Mr. Andrew Davis Feliz (THE BATMAN), Ms. Alexis Josephine Chavez (BATGIRL), Mr. David Estrada (THE RIDDLER), Ms. Jennifer Paniagua (HARLEY QUINN), Mrs. Luisa Cruz-Guerra (CATWOMAN), and our trusty production boy mannequin stand-in "Richard" (ROBIN THE BOY WONDER). After a one week delay in its Grand Opening (due to a blizzard), The month-long LIVING IN SEQUENCE Comic Art Gallery Event launched today in grand style... and "Fathers of The Dark Knight" was there for all the excitement! Curator RAY FELIX of Bronx Heroes Comics has assembled together a most impressive gallery showing of vintage and contemporary comic book artwork spanning more than seven decades! In addition, exciting events will be featured every weekend for visitors to enjoy! There will be artist workshops, live model drawing, animated comic book character screenings, a women in comics panel, and so much more! Set in the Visitor's Center of Poe Park in the Bronx (Grand Concourse between East 192nd Street and Kingsbridge Road) , "Living In Sequence" salutes the industry's top names while paying homage to Batman saga creators Bob Kane, Bill Finger, and Jerry Robinson. The selection of location for this prestigious event was particularly poignant since the park was often the site of Kane, Finger, and Robinson's story collaborations for "Detective Comics" and "Batman" during the 1940's. Producer / Director Roberto Williams was on hand for this event's Artist Reception to formally introduce the public to his student stage production "Fathers Of The Dark Knight". Several of the play's publicity photos, and production designs were on display, as well as the pair of life-sized mannequins dressed in the production's official Batman and Robin uniforms! The production material caused quite a sensation among the center's visitors, with Caped Crusader photo ops frequently being requested. To meet the Producer / Writer/ Director, and to have your chance to pose with the Dark Knight and his Boy Wonder, visit the gallery every Saturday until the close of the event. "Living in Sequence" runs through March 8th, 2013. Gallery hours are Tuesday - Saturday 11:00 AM - 4PM. School trips welcome! Mr. Williams is proud and honored to be included among the accomplished artists that are being featured at "Living in Sequence", and he extends his sincerest gratitude to Mr. Ray Felix for this generous opportunity. August 25th, 2012. On a rooftop in Wiliamsburg Brooklyn, NY, Producer, Director Roberto Williams led a team of students, their siblings and their parents in a publicity photo shoot for his latest stage production "Fathers Of The Dark Knight". The goal of the shoot was to capture a series of images that would demonstrate the intended mood, tone, and production value of the play, and to utilize those images for production fund-raising efforts. This evening marked David Estrada's first costume fitting as THE RIDDLER, while Andrew Davis Feliz and Alexis J. Chavez were both on hand to appear as THE BATMAN and BATGIRL. The operation began shortly before nightfall. In no time at all, word spread throughout the neighborhood that Batman characters had been spotted on a local rooftop. Shortly after, dozens of stunned sightseers could be seen perched on neighboring rooftops, hoping for a glimpse of the Caped Crusaders and their villainous arch nemesis. The three young performers enjoyed their brush with fame, but when night fell, they set about the task of capturing several stunning publicity images! In what is sure to go down as one of the most memorable moments in the entire Pre-Production of "Fathers Of The Dark Knight, 17 year old drama student Andrew Davis Feliz was fitted with his Bat-cowl for the very first time this afternoon in the TAPCO High School auditorium. He described the feel and fit as "snug, but very comfortable" before smiling ear to ear with excitement. After a full 10 minutes enjoying his reflection in the bathroom mirror, and accepting himself as The Dark Knight, it became necessary to talk Andrew into removing his new cowl and returning to his History class. A hotly anticipated package was delivered to the "Fathers Of The Dark Knight" production office earlier this afternoon. It was sent by sculptor extraordinaire Shawn Reeves of Reevz FX, and it contained the newly minted mask cowls that will be worn by Catwoman, Batgirl, and The Batman in the stage production! The headgear, all cast in tough urethane rubber, are of unparallelled quality and workmanship. They are certain to give the characters' final costumes the most professional polish possible. The Producers of "Fathers Of The Dark Knight extend their sincere gratitude to Mr. Reeves for his incredible work, and we wish him all the greatest success with ReevzFx! While walking the halls of TAPCO School in the Bronx two weeks ago, Teaching Artist Roberto Williams spotted 6th grader Wilfredo Pena and his mother, waiting to meet with school administrators in the school's main office. Wilfredo's resemblance to comic book character Dick Grayson / Robin The Boy Wonder immediately caught Mr. Williams' attention. The young student and his parent were surprised but thrilled at the un-expected request to assist on "Fathers of the Dark Knight", and they looked forward to the opportunity to do so. Earlier today, young Mr. Pena finally made the most of that opportunity by performing a dramatic read from DC Comics' "BATMAN: Full Circle" (published in 1991). Afterward he performed a dramatic Boy Wonder improv alongside Andrew Davis Feliz (as The Batman). In the coming weeks, Wilfredo will serve as a Robin The Boy Wonder stand-in during preliminary costume design, fabrication, and fitting. A HUGE thanks goes out to Wilfredo's mother Marteen, and grandmother Maria Oteri for all of their assistance! |
