Born and raised in New York City, Alaja Desilva, 22, has become a valuable member of the "FATHERS OF THE DARK KNIGHT" team. Her list of previous artistic and personal accomplishments have made her a tailor-made fit for the unique requirements of the production.
During her early teens, Ms. Desilva dedicated herself to several years of difficult training in the martial art form of Tae-Kwon Do. She ultimately earned herself a second degree black belt in her discipline, and then served as instructor to students of her own. While attending Baldwin Senior High School, in Nassau County NY, Alaja found herself in the company of a diverse group of friends, many of whom were students of the school's drama department. In no time at all, she discovered a latent interest and ability for dramatic acting, which quickly evolved into a passion for vocal characterizations and make-up design. Before graduating from High School, the fledgling performer appeared in a school production of Mel Brook's "The Producers" , portraying several character roles on stage (Old Woman, Nazi, German Girl, and Street Walker).
Initially serving as a costume wrangler for this production, Ms. Desilva's hard-work and diligence have quickly earned her expanded responsibilities which include Production Manager, Promotions, Cast Tae-Kwon Do instructor, and most notably, Supervisor of Hair and Theatrical Make-Up. With her considerable talents, Ms. Desilva now makes the "FATHERS OF THE DARK KNIGHT" family look its very best!
